    Our Brand Ambassador Iain Forteath has created this amazing new cocktail in honour of World Whisky Day this saturday. "Smoky Ol Tom" is easy to create at home and uses our Tomintoul 10 Year Old.

  • International Spirits Challenge Awards 2018

    We are delighted to have been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2018 ISC awards for our Tomintoul Vintage Single Cask 1977. Tomintoul 15 Year Old Peaty Tang also won a Silver Medal at the awards announced today. 

     

  • Spirit of Speyside Festival 2018

    We are all getting ready for this year's Spirit of Speyside festival. The team are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to the distillery for our tours and to sampling our excellent single malts at The Memorial Hall, Dufftown on the 5th and 6th May.

  • Tomintoul Wins at London Spirits Competition

     

    Results just out today! At the first-ever London Spirits Competition, which took place in London on March 8-9, Tomintoul 16 Year Old won a Gold medal, which is the ultimate seal of approval in the global spirits industry. In order to receive this distinction, it needed to score highly in three different categories: Quality, Value and Packaging.  There was also Silver Medals for Tomintoul Tlath and Peaty Tang.

     

    In contrast to other spirits competitions, where distilling ability and technical expertise sometimes receive primary consideration at the expense of drinkability, the goal of the London Spirits Competition was to award and celebrate the spirits that spirits drinkers actually want to buy, whether at a retail store or ordering off the menu at a London restaurant.

  • A special jewel

    In an age when stocks of older single malt Scotch whiskies are a rarity, it is a moment of joy to launch our Tomintoul Aged 40 years. This quadruple cask release is unique.

    Four American oak hogsheads were discovered in the depths of warehouse 4 at Tomintoul Distillery.  These casks were found to contain Tomintoul whisky which had been distilled in 1974. Moreover, when Master Distiller, Robert Fleming, whose family has been distilling whisky for generations, nosed and tasted each cask from the 1974 distillation he considered that the quality of the whisky was truly outstanding.

    Such a rare discovery merited a special bottling where elegance of design and packaging is at a premium.

    The whisky from these exceptional quadruple casks has been bottled in hand-crafted crystal decanters which have been individually numbered.  The gift box has been especially designed to provide a unique presentation featuring a twin door opening with cushioned padding on the inside. The wooded exterior is finished in a classy matt black lacquer. Customised spaces on the inside accommodate a crystal glass stopper and an information leaflet. The quadruple cask release is truly limited and only 500 bottles have been crafted.

    The Tomintoul Aged 40 Years expression is a special jewel. It is rightfully referred to as the “Gentle Dram” and it reveals a depth and complexity only possible from a whisky which has been allowed to mature for 40 slow years.

  • Latest release

    We are delighted to announce our latest release. Enriching our current portfolio of Tlàth, “Peaty Tang”,  10 years old, 12 years old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish, 14 years old, 15 years old Portwood Finish, 16 years old, 25 years old, the 50th Anniversary Five Decades release, the limited edition Vintage 1976 (36 years old) and the quadruple cask - unique and rare - 40 years old expression - we now have an exquisite 21 year old!

    This new edition has been created by the careful selection of mature whisky from Bourbon casks, all of which have spent 21 years in cool Scottish warehouses.

    Said to have orange blossom honey, summer fruits and new mown hay frolic with a delicate nougat sweetness on the nose and a subtle balance of malty sweetness and spicy oak tones on the palate, this is definitely going to be a dram not to be missed!

  • Spring has not quite made it to us yet!

    You wouldn't have know it, but this was taken end of April 2017 at Tomintoul distillery.

  • Across the pond this February

    Some exceptional events have been taking place across the pond this February with our very own brilliant Brand Ambassador Iain Forteath.

    KFWE Los Angeles was a fantastic opportunity to taste and discover our Tomintoul range on a sunny and scenic rooftop of the Petersen Museum.

    As we approach the end of yet another fantastic year, we'd like to take a trip down memory lane and look back on the moments that shaped this year. 

    1. Five Generations of Five Decades - One of the highlights of the year was celebrating our 51st Birthday with Five Generations of Five Decades. Which involved 5 members of Team Tomintoul each born at the Start of the Decades 1965 - 2005.

    4. SHOWS AND EXHIBITIONS

    From intimate masterclasses to 4 day exhibitions; we attended and hosted quite a few this year allowing us to meet those who love our whisky and those who want to find out more about us.

    From international whisky festivals to those across the country, we had a lot of fun at the shows this year along with a few highlights.

    BBC GOOD FOOD SHOW MOMENTS - As one of the most attended shows this year, the BBC Good Food Show brought on a lot of memories. From welcoming a group of Chinese customers who flew all the way to visit us on our stand to World Long Drive Golf Champion and Brand Ambassador Joe Miller selling on stand. 

    OTHER NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SHOWS 2016: ­

     5. Awards - From IWSC to to the Spirits Business, we won a few awards this year. Our 40 Year Old Quadruple Cask Single Malt Scotch whisky and Five Decades were winners at this year's Spirits Business and IWSC.
