Glen Kirk owes its heritage to the "glens" (valleys) in the Highlands of Scotland. The Speyside region is famous for its world-class salmon fishing on the river Spey and its exceptional malt distilleries. The glens are also home to many Kirks. The word "Kirk" comes from Old Norse and Old English and means "Church".
