  • Tomintoul Team at Whisky Live, Den Haag

    The Tomintoul Team will be sampling a wide range of our single malts at Whisky Live in Den Haag from the 16th to 18th November. 

    This incredible event takes place in the beautiful Great Church in Den Haag, and is a must for all whisky lovers. 

    Our team will be sampling the whole Tomintoul range which includes our peated range Peaty Tang, including the new award winning 15 Year Old.

  • WhiskyNet in Hungary

    This weekend our Brand Ambassador Iain was at the whisky show WhiskyNet in Budapest, sampling a fine selction of the Tomintoul range. 

  • NEW RELEASE - Tomintoul Vintage 1973

    We are delighted to announce the release of an incredibly rare new Tomintoul - our Vintage 1973 Double Wood Matured, aged 45 years.

    Only 218 bottles have been produced.

    This single malt has been selected not only because of its rarity of age but, very significantly, because it is the result of a careful “finishing” process by which our whisky began by resting for more than three decades of ageing in the finest white-oak American casks before being transferred into a hogshead cask originally used to mature Oloroso Sherry in Spain. Finally, after a generous period of time in Sherry wood it was deemed that the time was right to make it available to lovers of excellent whisky.

    Available in selected European and Asian markets world wide with an RRP of circa £2000.

     

    Tasting notes

    Colour: Deep amber

    Nose: Clean Sherry influence on a sweet malty layer. Intense waxy aromas merge with hints of orange citrus and Christmas pudding.

    Palate: Richly mouth-filling as notes of nuts, chocolate, mocha coffee bean and spicy oak tannins vie for supremacy.

    Finish: Dry and spicy with a rich and enduring finalé.

  • The Tomintoul Blizzard Cocktail

    "Tomintoul Blizzard" is a simple and delicious cocktail created by our Brand Ambassador Iain and inspired by the harsh winters at the distillery.

    Ingredients

     

    • 3 x measures (75ml) Tomintoul T’lath Single Malt
    • 1 x measure (25ml) Cranberry juice
    • 2/3 measure (17ml) Lemon juice
    • 1 measure (25ml) Sugar syrup

    Method

    Add the ingredients together in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until frost forms. Decant the cocktail into a highball glass and garnish with raspberries and brambles.              

    Alternatives

    • You can always add a little more sugar syrup to soften the cocktail.
    • Experiment with the garnish- cranberries and blueberries work a treat!

  • Whisky Show London - 29th to 30th September

    This Friday and Saturday the team will be at The Whisky Show London with a wide range of Tomintoul expressions.

    Come and see us on stand 32 to sample our excellent single malts and find out more about our whiskies. Our Brand Ambassador Iain will be there to answer all your questions and give you some great background and stories on our distillery.
